Jorge is committed to a life of productive service, a principle that follows in the tradition of one of his heroes Francis Perkins, who stated “Most of man's problems upon this planet, in the long history of the race, have been met and solved either partially or as a whole by experiment based on common sense and carried out with courage.”
Productive service is a very intentional form of giving back. It is not volunteering for volunteering sake. It is measuring ones life by the positive impact one makes during life. To this end, in addition to his public service, Jorge has held many leadership roles and has served on the boards of several important initiatives. He has served on the Board of Directors for New Kensington Community Development Corporation (NKCDC), Startup Corps, Hunting Park United, and Taller Puertorriqueno.
